Marilyn Guirguis, Managing Editor of Publication

Marilyn moved to Charlottesville from Morgantown, West Virginia. She graduated summa cum laude with a dual degree in economics and political science at West Virginia University. She proceeded to work and volunteer in a diverse range of environments, including work at the West Virginia Office of the Attorney General Dinsmore, and serving as a disaster case worker for the American Red Cross. Passionate about pursuing litigation-oriented work, she accepted a summer 2017 position at Latham & Watkins in New York. In her free time, Marilyn loves swimming, cooking, and volunteering. Throughout her time in law school, she has volunteered at the Legal Aid Justice Center for the Medical-Legal Partnership Internship, where she served as an Affordable Care Act navigator, responsible for assisting clients in choosing the right health care plan. She also gained first-hand experience in employment advocacy through the Employment Law Clinic. Further, she has received training to serve as a guardian ad litem for unaccompanied immigrant children through the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights.
